Donald L. “Poochie” Sorrels, of Buena Vista, formerly of Madison Heights, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2025. He was the son of the late Hunter W. and Lillie F. Sorrels. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Bernice K. Sorrels; sister, Edith S. Austin; and brother, Glen W. Sorrels. Donnie retired from B.W. X. Technology in Lynchburg in 2002 with 35 years of service. He is survived by a brother, Joseph W. “Red” Sorrels; fiancé, Betty Wright; nieces, Carolyn G. Topping, Pamela G. Ragland, and Donna S. Walton; nephew, Ronald G. Green; and great-nephew, Kevin Topping. Special thank you to the Wright family for the loving care and support to Donnie these last few years. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, March 14, at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens by Pastor Butch Grow. Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 13, at Bolling, Grose and Lotts Funeral Home. Arrangements are being handled by Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
