Dena Markell Hunt Willard of Lexington went peacefully to Glory with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, March 24, 2025. 

Her final days were marked by peace and her unwavering belief in the truth of the Gospel. Her loved ones rejoice in the knowledge that we will see her again.

Born in Asheboro, N.C., on Oct. 15, 1956, she was a daughter to Mozelle and the late Walter F. Hunt, wife to Charles G. Willard, mother to Mary Hope McCauliffe and son-in-law Mike, and grandmother to Grace Cary and Evalyn Belle McCauliffe.

To celebrate her life, people will gather on Saturday, May 3, at Grace Presbyterian Church - PCA in Lexington at 10:30 a.m., with areception to follow. As Dena lived life, dress for this event should be bright, colorful and cheerful. No dark attire please! 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Grace Presbyterian Church Mortgage Fund (Lexington, VA), reflecting Dena's deep love for her church and its mission.
