PEGGY FORD
She was born in Rockbridge County on Oct. 29, 1939, the daughter of Harvey and Piney Clark. Peggy was employed at Burlington Industries for 38 years and at Virginia Military Institute for 16 years.
Peggy loved her animals, working in the garden and family get-togethers.
Preceding her in death were her parents; Kenny Ford; brothers, Edward, Lawrence, Ralph and Sherman Clark; and sisters, Mildred Rowsey, Frances Hostetter, Ethel Tyree, Edith Haynes and Charlotte Clark.
She is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Karen Sue Ford; sisters, Florence Hostetter, Shirley Bayne, Alice Newcomb, and Alma Wines; and numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving are special neighbors Steve and Molly Crowder. Special people in Peggy’s life included Jenny, Koty, Vannah, Caylin, Jay, Bird and Sherrie, Troy, Dean, Sandra, Cindy, and Dr. Colleen Arnold.
A celebration of life service will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, March 4, at VMI’s Memorial Hall with the Rev. Lucy Jackson Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Stonewall Jackson Cemetery.
