Larry Preston Lunsford, 71, of Buena Vista passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at Henrico Doctors Hospital in Richmond.

Born May 11, 1951, in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Thomas Preston Lunsford and Edna Humphries Lunsford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Charles Lunsford.

Larry had an open and warm personality which made spending time with him a joy. He loved laughing and spending time with his family.  He had a passion for anything outdoors and was an avid sportsman. He loved hunting and fishing, and nothing made him prouder than having his boys join him.  Larry also enjoyed planting flowers and watching them come to life in the spring. 

Larry retired from Blueridge Resource Authority with 30 years of loyal service.

Surviving are his sons, Cody Preston Lunsford (Nikki), Ethan Matthew Lunsford, and Michael Dudley (Heather); daughters, Anita Ingram (Joey), Paula Shrum, and Samantha Lilly; siblings, Paul Lunsford, Raymond Lunsford, Dale Lunsford, Cynthia Fitzgerald, Rick Lunsford and Abby Ralston; and special friend, Wanda Doc.

No funeral service will be held but the family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 7, at Harrison Funeral Home.
