John Cameron Goodbar passed away on April 8, 2023.

He was born to the late John and Mabel Goodbar. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters as well as his infant son John Junior, son Micael Cameron, and grandson Justin Marianetti.

Surviving is his devoted wife, Shirley Taylor Goodbar, who loved him with all her heart. He is also survived by two daughters, Tami Marianetti (husband Randy) and Kim Adams (husband Gary); six grandchildren, Kara Elum, Seth Adams, Jordan Adams, Brianna Goodbar, Grace Goodbar, and Jessica Goodbar, as well as three great-grandchildren, Addison, Ainsley, and Annabelle Elum; also numerous nieces and nephews. Johnny was a member of the Lexington Baptist Church.

Johnny and his son Mike opened Redwood Family Restaurant on Jan. 1, 1985, and enjoyed years of service with wonderful customers. They closed the restaurant on May 20, 2015.

Johnny was a kind, generous, soft-spoken man who loved the lord and his family.

A funeral was conducted Tuesday, April 11, at Lexington Baptist Church Home Chapel by the Rev. Michael Saunders. The burial followed at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens.

Arrangements were by Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory.

George Oliver Hazelwood Jr., 78, of Buena Vista, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 4, 2023.

Born July 31, 1944 in Norfolk, he was a son of the late George Oliver Hazelwood Sr. and Rosalee Carter Hazelwood.

George retired after many years of service as the head custodian at Parry McCluer Middle School.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, James Hazelwood, William Lacy “Dick” Hazelwood and Paul David Hazelwood.

Surviving are his wife, Lois Hazlewood; children, Lisa Hazelwood, Jan Rogers (Freddie) and Kevin Hazelwood; six grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; siblings, Mary Harrison and Patricia Hazelwood; sister-in-law, Edna Hazelwood; and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be no service at this time.

Arrangements are being handled by Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
