FRANCES CONNER

Frances Garrison Conner, 93, of Lexington went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, May 18, 2023.

She was born in Anderson, S.C., on Feb. 20, 1930, daughter of the late Earl H. and Elizabeth Boggs Garrison.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Charles Andrew Conner Jr.; her sister, Etherleen Garrison Watson; and brother, James “Jim” Earl Garrison.

She is survived by her sister, Margie Garrison Sallies with husband Robert; her brother, Robert Douglas Garrison with wife Jo Ann; her son, Charles “Chuck” Andrew Conner III and wife Patsy; her two daughters, Cathey Conner Hall and husband Ronald, and Amy Conner Graves and husband James; nine grandchildren, Charles “Charlie” Andrew Conner IV and wife Mallory, Christine Conner Stone and husband Geren, Chad William Conner and wife Sarah, Candace Hall Nelson, Meghan Hall Anderson and husband Austin, Ronald W. “Wil” Hall I and wife Lindsay, Conner Elliott Graves and wife Ashley, Leslie Graves Mutispaugh and husband Daniel and Sarah Whitney Graves; 13 great-grandchildren, Charles “Chuck” Andrew V and Chance Conner, Gavin, Ashton, Alana and Aiden Stone, Chad William Conner II, Hayden and Reagan Anderson, Amilia “Millie”, Ronald W. “Tripp” III and Ruth Hall and Elizabeth M. “Ellie” Graves.

She was a member of the Lauderdale A.R. Presbyterian Church in Lexington where she was active in the Women’s Ministries and taught Sunday school.

She attended Anderson High School and Erskine College, graduating with a bachelor of arts degree.

She earned her master of education from the University of Virginia.

She taught in Rockbridge County at Fairfield High School, Highland Belle and Central elementary schools. She was a member of the Rockbridge Education Association and the Retired Teachers Association.

For more than 50 years, she was a member of the Rockbridge Extension Club and also a member of the Fair Hills Garden Club.

A memorial service will be held at Lauderdale A.R. Presbyterian Church in Lexington on May 22 at 2:30 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lauderdale A.R. Presbyterian Church. Arrangements are being handled by Harrison Funeral Home. N-G
