Nadine Reynolds Goodbar, 91, of Lexington died June 29

ne Reynolds Goodbar, 91, of Lexington moved on to her heavenly home on Thursday, June 29, 2023. She passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family. ne was born Aug. 12, 1931, and grew up in Collierstown in a large family and throughout her life enjoyed being surrounded by family. ne was predeceased in death by her husband, James “Jimmy” Goodbar; father and mother, Aaron and Zola Reynolds; brothers, Silvea and Clefard Reynolds; multiple brothers and sisters-in-laws, and daughter-in-law Karin Goodbar. She is survived by her sons, Geoffrey Goodbar (Gay Lea), and Perry Goodbar; grandchildren Bradley Goodbar (Morgan), Carter Goodbar (Georgia), Mikaela Goodbar and Preston Goodbar; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Gatha Hall and Hilda Morris; sisters-in-laws, Barbara Reynolds, Shirley Goodbar and Evelyn Goodbar; and many nieces and nephews. ne was an avid gardener who loved working in her garden and doing her own lawn care and other projects around her house. ne was employed for many years at Kroger in Lexington where she made many lifetime friends. She was a longtime and faithful member of the Grace Presbyterian Church in Lexington, where she was blessed with an amazing church family. ne was a devout Christian with a heart of a servant. She was a member of the Lexington Lifesaving Crew Auxiliary and provided care and assistance for elderly family members and neighbors. The family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Carol Hostetter, and her sisters, Gatha Hall and Hilda Morris, who provided constant companionship and support; and Connections Plus (Rockbridge Hospice), especially her nurse Karen who provided compassionate care for her in this final part of her life. Memorial contributions can be made to Grace Presbyterian Church building fund, or Connections Plus (Rockbridge Hospice). There will be a family burial service at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens, followed by a memorial service and visitation at Grace Presbyterian Church in Lexington at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, July 5.
