Richard Stanley Smith, 64, of Buena Vista, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2023.

He was born May 20, 1959, in Rockbridge County, the son of the late Lester R. Smith and Ressie Mae Rogers Smith.

He worked at Reeves Brothers and the Department of Corrections.

Surviving are his brothers, Edward L. Smith, Delmas Burch, and Steven Burch; sisters, Charlene Guscatt and Ellen Kimberlin; and numerous nieces and nephews.  

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. 

Arrangements are being handled by Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
