CHRYSTEEN LILLY

CHRYSTEEN LILLY

Vera Chrysteen Lilly of Buena Vista (Chrys, or affectionately known by friends as “Tiger”) entered into her eternal rest on Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2023. She was surrounded by family as she passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus.

Chrysteen was born March 26, 1930, in Baxter, Ky., to the late Reba Turner Carroll.

Chrysteen accepted Christ at the age of 15 while attending Mt. Carmel Christian High School in Kentucky. She then attended Kentucky Mountain Bible Institute, followed by nurses training in Alton, Ill. On her way to nurses training is where she met her husband, Bobby F. Lilly, who preceded her in death on July 6, 2023. They were married July 2, 1955. They had just celebrated 68 years of marriage.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Harmon Clayton Carroll and Earnest Richard Carroll; parental in-laws that she was close to; and Bob’s siblings who were like brothers and sisters to her.

She is survived by her children, Marilyn (Larry) Earhart, Linda (Robbie) Burnett, Wanda Lilly (Earl Tyler) and Greg (Emily) Lilly; grandchildren, Kim (Brandon) Edwards, Kelly (Shawn) Watkins, Kodi (Jeremy) Burner, Jason (Carolyn) Burnett, Kevin Burnett (Lindsey), Caleb Tyler, Katy Lilly and Ally Lilly; greatgrandchildren, Luke, Kendal and Evan Edwards, Eli and Charley Watkins, Nolan and Reed Burner, Robert, Liam, and Eliza Burnett, Mariyah Burnett, Holden Houck and Everleigh Marstan.
