KAREN TURPIN
Born March 31, 1955, in Lexington, she was a daughter of Carrie Hotinger Van-Ness and Norman VanNess.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Mc-Clung Turpin Sr.; nephew Derek Parrent; brother-in-law C.B. Potter; and canine friend George.
Karen was a member of Oxford Presbyterian Church and was a cashier for Kmart. She loved flowers, hummingbirds, gardening, canning and sewing.
Surviving are her children, Tommy McClung “TJ” Turpin Jr. and John Norman Turpin; sisters, Mary Gold Parrent (Keith) and Donna Potter; nephews, Kevin Parrent (Jennifer) and Conner Ray Potter (Kelsey); niece, Maelea Potter; great-nephews, Troy Parrent and Luke Parrent; and great-niece, Brooke Wilson.
A funeral was conducted Monday, Oct. 2, at Harrison Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Skip Hastings. Burial followed at Oxford Presbyterian Cemetery.
