Malcolm Brown Lotts, 89, of Natural Bridge died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2024, at Blue Ridge Christian Home in Fairfield.

 

MALCOLM LOTTS

Malcolm Brown Lotts, 89, of Natural Bridge passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2024, at Blue Ridge Christian Home in Fairfield.

He was born March 28, 1934, the son of Raymond Charles Lotts Sr. and Mamie Rebecca McCormick Lotts. In addition to his parents, Malcolm was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Mary Katherine Thompson Lotts, and his brother, Raymond Charles Lotts Jr.

Malcolm was a kind and loving man who wore many hats during his lifetime. He was an owner/operator of two gas stations in the Natural Bridge area, drove for Trailways Bus Company for over 30 years, and after retirement from Trailways he worked for Harrison Funeral Home and Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Service. Malcolm enjoyed farming all his life. He also served on the Board of Directors for the Rockbridge Mutual Fire Insurance Company. He was a member of the High Bridge Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are his son, Michael Brown Lotts (Tammy); daughter, Rebecca Ann Flint (Chuck); six grandchildren, Amanda Lotts White (Jason), Sidney Brown Lotts (Donna), Joseph Michael Lotts (Jordane), Jennifer Leigh Funkhouser, Christopher Allen Funkhouser (Zachary) and Charles Robert Flint Jr. (Ashley); 15 great-grandchildren, Jackson Andrew White, Madeline Emory White, Preston Michael White, Katherine Price Lotts, Caroline Marie Lotts, Julianne McCormick Lotts, Jonathan Marshall Lotts, Jacob Michael Lotts, Kayleigh Rebecca Funkhouser, Alexis Grace Flint, Jacob Ray Flint, Lillyian Starla Flint, Marshall Carter Shafer, Austin Gage Davis and Lacey Danielle Moore; one great-great grandchild, Arielle Rayne Hamilton; and special daughter-in-law, Joanna Price Fainter. Special thanks to the staff of Blue Ridge Christian Home for their loving care that Malcolm received.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, 2024, at High Bridge Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Steve Willis. Burial will be private in High Bridge Presbyterian Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the High Bridge Presbyterian Scholarship Fund, 67 High Bridge Church Road, Natural Bridge, VA 24578. Arrangements are by Harrison Funeral Home.
