DORIS CRUTCHFIELD RHODENIZER
DORIS CRUTCHFIELD RHODENIZER
Both were born in Lexington to farming parents during a poor economic time in our country. Hard workers and good students, they met in mom’s first grade year, which means she was 6 years old. Momma, with her reddish brown hair and freckles, became the apple of our dad’s eye as soon as they met and their love story began. Neither ever dated another person and they were married when mom turned 18, dad had just been drafted into the U.S. Army, and they moved to Georgia.
Married just shy of 70 years, they did cherish each other so very much, as well as Butch and I, our spouses, our children and their children, but their love of Jesus is the legacy they have left for all of us to live by. Mom was always a “servant spirit” and kind to everyone she met and that, that is an amazing example of God’s love on this Earth.
You were the best momma anyone could have asked for, so thankful the prize is yours today! Love God, love your family and serve others well!
Doris is lovingly survived by her brother, Johnny Crutchfield and his wife Betty; children, Butch Rhodenizer and his wife Julie, and Lynn Scarbrough and her husband Jeff; grandchildren, Tabitha Anderson and her husband David, Jared Rhodenizer and his wife Rebekah, Tiffany Blackwood and her husband Joe, Carson Rhodenizer and his wife Brooke; great-grandchildren, Caroline Anderson, Brady Anderson, Quinn Blackwood, Everett Anderson, Anna Rhodenizer, Amelia Blackwood, Josie Blackwood, Cash Rhodenizer, Levi Anderson, and William Blackwood.
