Multiple Events Planned In Rockbridge Baths

A number of holiday events are taking place in Rockbridge Baths over the next several weeks. The first of these is the lighting of the Swinging Bridge on Sunday, Nov. 26, at 5:30 p.m. People will gather on the Terrell Lane side of the bridge to sing Christmas carols, turn on the bridge lights, take pictures with Santa and enjoy cider, hot chocolate and other refreshments.

A number of holiday events are taking place in Rockbridge Baths over the next several weeks. The first of these is the lighting of the Swinging Bridge on Sunday, Nov. 26, at 5:30 p.m. People will gather on the Terrell Lane side of the bridge to sing Christmas carols, turn on the bridge lights, take pictures with Santa and enjoy cider, hot chocolate and other refreshments.

Breakfast with Santa will be held on Saturday, Dec. 2, from 8 to 10 a.m., at the Rockbridge Baths firehouse. Those attending will enjoy a breakfast of pancakes, sausage, blueberry muffins, hot chocolate and orange juice as they wait for Santa to arrive at 9 a.m. on a firetruck. There will be opportunities for pictures with Santa and arts and crafts with holiday themes will be exhibited.

A wreath-making workshop will be offered on Sunday, Dec. 3, at 2 p.m., at the Rockbridge Baths firehouse. Wreaths will be made under the guidance of a skilled wreath maker. The workshop is limited to 20 so preregistration is suggested. Participants must be age 13 or older. Call (540) 3485847 or text (540) 817-8535 to pre-register. Donations of greenery are welcome.

Rockbridge Connect and Nourish will be offering a delicious free meal at the Rockbridge Baths firehouse on Wednesday, Dec. 6, from 6 to 7 p.m. Rockbridge CAN, formerly PACT, will be announcing changes and added attractions for 2024.

The newly formed Rockbridge Art League will present its first showcase and sale, Arts in the Baths, on Saturday, Dec. 9, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Rockbridge Baths firehouse. Artists will be exhibiting paintings, sculpture, fiber, book making, photography and stained glass. For more information, call (512) 9657582.

All of these upcoming holiday activities at Rockbridge Baths are free. At most of them, attendees will have an opportunity to make a donation.
