Bull & Oyster Fest Marks 17th Year
The Rockbridge Bull & Oyster Fest, a fundraiser for Rockbridge Area Health Center, returns for its 17th year to the Virginia Horse Center on Saturday, April 5, from 1 to 5 p.m. – rain or shine.
“Our annual signature event has reached capacity for the past three years. Each successive year has surpassed the last in attendance and enthusiasm,” said Suzanne Sheridan, RAHC CEO. “We are diligently preparing to accommodate another sellout once again. We encourage everyone to secure their tickets early, ensuring they don’t miss out on what promises to be another unforgettable experience.”
The outdoor, tented event will take place on the horse center’s hill overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains and will feature fresh shucked, roasted and pan-fried oysters, barbeque, craft beer, local wine, games and live music.
“The health center is committed to providing affordable and accessible health care to Rockbridge County and surrounding areas, and we want this annual fundraiser to also support community businesses and local culture,” said Sheridan.
Music will be provided throughout the afternoon by Gary Ruley and Mule Train, the musical ensemble led by veteran flat-picking guitarist/vocalist Gary Ruley.
“Mule Train includes a vibrant collection of talented musicians who support and share Gary’s drive to present the powerful acoustic sounds of bluegrass and newgrass,” she added. “We are so honored that they will, once again, join us for our event.”
As a nonprofit organization, the event’s net proceeds will support RAHC’s mission to provide comprehensive, high-quality and affordable healthcare services to anyone, regardless of income.
