PM Boys Overcome Narrows, PM Girls Fall

In battles for first place in the Pioneer District, the Parry McCluer High School boys earned a 77-69 road win over Narrows on Friday night, while the PM girls suffered a 69-38 road loss.

The PM boys, who had cruised to an 83-45 home win over district rival Bath County on Tuesday, improved to 14-4 overall and 7-0 in the district, while Narrows fell to 12-7 overall and 5-2 in the district.

The PM girls (14-3), who had earned a 40-34 overtime win over Bath County on Tuesday, saw their nine-game winning streak snapped and suffered their first district loss, falling to 4-1 in district play. Narrows (12-4) remained unbeaten in the district at 7-0.

The Blues will continue district action at home on Monday against Eastern Montgomery, with the boys at PM and the girls at EM, starting with junior varsity at 5:30 p.m. The PM varsity teams will then play host to Narrows on Wednesday, with the girls’ game at 5:30 p.m., followed by the boys’ game at 7.
