John Edgar "Johnny" Towler, 88, of NaturalBridge died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2025. 

Born Feb. 3, 1937, he was a son of the late Thomas Jefferson Towler and Mary Brown Towler. Also preceding him was his first wife, Darlene Lewis Towler.

Furthermore preceding him in death were his second wife, Doris Wilson Towler; and siblings Mary Evelyn Towler Goodbar and Malcolm Brown Towler.

Johnny was a member of NaturalBridge BaptistChurch and worked at Burlington Industries for 47 years. He loved buying and selling guns as much as meeting people.

He served in the U.S. Army for two years and was discharged as a SP-4.

Surviving are his son, Tony Towler; siblings, Virginia Towler Vess and Thomas Willard Towler; special friends Eugene and Cindy Harlow, and Robert Pooley Sr.; and very dear friend Darlene Overstreet.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 7, at Rockbridge MemorialGardens by the Rev. John Tilley.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to ConnectionsPlus Hospice, 315 Myers St., Lexington, VA 24450.
