The Rockbridge County High School girls basketball team completed its season with a 63-30 road loss to Valley District rival Broadway on Tuesday of last week.
The Washington and Lee University women’s and men’s swimming teams both won Old Dominion Athletic Conference titles last week at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, N.C.
Five-hundred people attended this year’s Souper Bowl, a fundraiser for Washington and Lee University’s Campus Kitchen Backpack Program, which provides nonperishable food for needy children. Fourteen area restaurants, caterers and community organizations served up 19 soups to the crowd and $9,700 was raised.
The Parry McCluer High School boys basketball team cruised to a 62-26 win over Eastern Montgomery in the Pioneer District quarterfinals on Monday night at James River High School in Buchanan.

Two Rockbridge County High School distance runners, senior Evan Roney and junior Deena Ludtke, will compete in the Class 3 state indoor track and field meet on Feb. 28 at Liberty University. Other Wildcats concluded their season at the Region 3C meet on Saturday at Heritage High School in Lynchburg.
Nine PM Wrestlers Advance To State
Led by balanced scoring, the Parry McCluer High School girls basketball team defeated Eastern Montgomery 41-33 to win the Pioneer District regular-season title on Monday night at James River High School in Buchanan.
