Two Grants Awarded To Youths
Rockbridge Regional Library in Lexington will host an online and in-person information session for Career Online High School (COHS) on Wednesday, May 24, at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. for potential students age 20 and older who have successfully completed eighth grade.
Two longtime members of the Lexington Woman’s Club, both former presidents, were recently recognized with pins from the General Federation of Women’s Clubs. Dot Ravenhorst (left) served as the club’s president from 1977 to 1979. Helen Pearson (right) served as president from 1993 to 1995, 1999-2000 and again from 2008 to 2010.
There will be a Community Sing this Sunday, May 21, beginning at 5 p.m., at Randolph Street United Methodist Church, entitled, “Songs that Make Community.”

First MGCC Class Graduates
The following students from the Rockbridge area earned degrees from Mountain Gateway Community College this spring.
The following area residents completed short-term programs through Mountain Gateway Community College’s workforce division, to prepare for nationally recognized credentials, such as CDL and pharmacy technician. The programs fall under the umbrella of the school’s Fast-Forward program.
Students from elementary school to college were among the participants in the first Community Cyber Day at Natural Bridge Hotel grounds Saturday, sponsored by the AFCEA (Armed Forces Communications Electronic Association) Rockbridge Shenandoah Chapter. Students in Natural Bridge Elementary’s after-school program “Dreams” engaged in several activities, including flying drones (seen in the top two photos), while cadets in the VMI Drone Club demonstrated their knowledge (seen in photo at far left and immediate left). Tim and Karen Tingler of Quest King Enterprises brought their aqua drone as well (seen in photos below and center below).
