On Sunday, May 14, Burr Datz led the 11 a.m. worship service at the Collierstown Presbyterian Church. The congregation celebrated Senior Sunday recognizing the following Rockbridge County High School seniors: Kelsie Caldwell, daughter of Seth and Marnie Caldwell; McKenzie Hines, Rachel Hines, and Paden Hines, the daughters and son of Jonathan and Kimberly Hines. Each was presented with an engraved English Standard Version Study Bible. Following the worship service, the congregation enjoyed lemonade on the lawn and a time of fellowship with the graduates and their families.

Last week we announced that Andrea “Andi” Bradley had been hired as the new administrative assistant in Town Hall to replace longtime employee Jane Higginbotham, who is retiring. She was to have started her new job this past Monday, but she was informed by the town’s lawyer, Grace Crickenbarger, this past week that she was suddenly not eligible and couldn’t be hired.

On Sunday, May 21, New Monmouth Presbyterian Church enjoyed special music from the kids’ praise team. Laura Hotinger and Carson led the children in singing “Holy Spirit.” Leila Hackett, Ambrose Clark, Clementine Clark and Marigold Clark all sang solos, and Cordelia Clark accompanied on the keyboard. The youth group, led by Tim and Janeen Welsh, met after church for lunch and fellowship, and they delivered flowers to shut-ins.
