Wildcats Split Pair In Opening Week

The Rockbridge County High School girls soccer team dropped a pair of nondistrict games in the first week of the season, falling 1-0 at home against Fort Defiance on Thursday night before suffering a 6-0 road lost to Staunton on Friday.

The Rockbridge County High School boys soccer team suffered a pair of nondistrict losses in its opening week, coming up short 2-0 at Fort Defiance on Thursday evening before falling 7-0 at home against Staunton on Friday.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Hot Pursuit 5K has been canceled. The running/ walking race was scheduled to take place on April 15 at the Virginia Horse Center, raising funds for the Lexington Police Foundation and the Lexington Mounted Unit.

The Parry McCluer High School girls tennis team’s new coach is taking on her first head coaching job, but she has plenty of experience on the tennis court.

After a three-year hiatus, the Hot Pursuit 5K will return on Saturday, April 15, for its third year. The 5-kilometer running/ walking race, which will take place at the Virginia Horse Center, will raise funds for the Lexington Police Foundation and the Lexington Mounted Unit.

The College Sports Communicators (CSC) recently announced that Brian Laubscher, director of internal communications at Washington and Lee University, will receive the CSC Lifetime Achievement Award at the organization’s annual convention in Orlando this June.

The 2023 United States Intercollegiate Boxing Association (USIBA) National Tournament will be held in Cocke Hall at Virginia Military Institute on Thursday, March 23, through Saturday, March 25.
