The summer flowers are holding on for now, but their days are numbered. Neighborhood pools are being closed for the season. At State Junior Dairymen’s Contest

Rockbridge County FFA members brought home fifth place honors from a field of 43 competing teams at the Virginia Junior Dairymen’s Competition during the State Fair of Virginia in Doswell Sept. 22. Team members included Kathleen Beard, Kaitlyn Childs and Jacob Wallace. Kathleen Beard received special recognition for earning the eighth highest individual ranking among the 170 total senior-level contestants. The team was coached by Lisa Martin.
