Oct. 16, 2023 Editor, The News-Gazette: I was shocked that local Democrats chose a recent college graduate to be their state senator candidate. I know very little of Jade Harris, but I do know that she has very little experience in government. In fact, she has limited experience in any career.

Ann Anderson Apperson, 97, of Lexington died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2023, at Havenwood Manor.

Theresa Helaine Cox, age 64, of Lexington passed away on Sept. 14, 2023, after a fouryear battle with cancer.

James Robert Bailey passed away on Sept. 8, 2023, with his wife and two daughters by his side.

Walter B. “Walt” Wilmore Jr. of Lexington passed away at his home on Sunday, Oct. 15, 2023, from Parkinson’s. He was born on June 9, 1942, in the Stonewall Jackson House, Lexington.

Elizabeth Gordon McAllen Baker died from Alzheimer’s disease on Oct. 12, 2023, at Kendal at Lexington.

Lannie Davis Ballard, 84, left this worldly earth for a happier place on Oct. 12, 2023.
