Winter Storm Heading Here This Weekend

An incoming weather system is expected to bring potentially dangerous conditions to the Rockbridge area over the weekend. According to a hazardous weather outlook issued by the National Weather Service for southwest and west central Virginia, winter precipitation is likely Saturday and Sunday. Travel is expected to be impacted. As of Tuesday, the National Weather Service forecasts a 100% chance of precipitation Saturday with rain, snow and sleet, becoming all snow after 10 on Sat- urday night. The storm system is expected to exit the area Sunday morning.

The properties are owned by Scott and Jessica Andrew (above address) and are located on the east side of Borden Grant Trail (Route 706), east of the intersection of Borden Grant Trail (Route 706),and Jonestown Road (Route 707). The properties are in the Agricultural and General Uses (A-2)Zoning District. Per Section 603.03-24 of the Regulations, Special Events are a use by special exception in the A-2 Zoning District. The properties are further identified as tax map numbers 39-22-B and 39-22-B1 (Total 59.99 ac. – per tax records). The properties are in the South River Magisterial District. This is a continued public hearing from the December 13, 2023, Planning Commission meeting.
