Five garden clubs are getting ready for the annual County Council plant sale at Hopkins Green in downtown Lexington on Saturday, May 13, from 9 a.m. to noon. Hundreds of plants and garden-related items will be offered. Proceeds go to fund downtown hanging baskets and other charitable projects of the member clubs. A memorial meeting to remember Devan Malore will be held Saturday, April 29, at 2 p.m. at Maury River Friends Meeting (Quakers), 34 Waterloo Road. This is just off West Midland Trail about 10 miles west of Lexington.

The National Honor Society and the Executive Student Council will be hosting the annual Lip Sync Battle this Saturday, April 29. The doors will open at 5 p.m., and the show will start at 6 p.m. Tickets will be sold to students for $5 during lunch beginning three days before the show date, and they will be sold for $7 at the door on the day of the event. All proceeds that are made from the event will be donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
